Monday Fun Stuff Blogging

At the end of March, the ELI Student Services Staff held a retreat, spending the day at Huntley Meadows Park, a wetland and nature preserve in Alexandria. (We couldn't believe this huge, quiet park was situated right in the middle of such a busy city!) Before we worked on talking about ways we can better assist students, we took an hour's tour of the park and enjoyed the fresh air, scenic views, and animal life. I've included a couple of pictures here to give you a sense of what we saw.
The nature guide who led us around the park reminded us of the importance of getting out in nature, breathing the fresh air, hearing natural sounds, and enjoying wildlife. She pointed out how much it benefits our creativity, our focus, and our spiritual and physical health. Now that it's spring, I hope that all of you can get out more often as well! A little walk around the neighborhood or a local park is a great study break.

  1. I will definitely be going back to this special place, it has a unique beauty - would recommend a trip to this park to anyone in the dc metro area, well worth it!

  2. I really like the use of these wildlife pictures. Really transports me.
