Blackboard Tip: Web Browsers

While you can access Blackboard using most Web browsers, you may not have full functionality of your course site using some browsers. Google Chrome, for example, is a newer browser that has been gaining popularity since it was released last year. For many functions Chrome is quite useful; however, students report several issues when using this browser to work in their Blackboard course site. For example, when using the Assignment Feature, you may receive an error message when trying to upload an attachment. Frustrating!

For full functionality, ELI recommends using Internet Explorer or Firefox. You can download either browser for free. To download Firefox, go here. Or, to download Internet Explorer, go here.

If you have additional problems using Blackboard please let us know. You can comment on this post or call the ELI Hotline at 703-323-3347.
