Blackboard Tip: Open in a New Window

Do your professors ever provide you with links to websites in Blackboard? If you've clicked on one of those, you may have experienced the website opening up within Blackboard, so that the normal menu of Blackboard buttons still shows up on the left. This can be frustrating if you needed to refer to your professor's instructions, study questions, or other materials while looking at the website.

Next time you need to click a link like that in Blackboard, try right clicking. That is, put your mouse pointer over the link, and then click the right mouse button. From the menu that pops up, select "open in a new tab" or "open in a new window." That way, you'll have the web page open to use while still being able to refer to your assignment or other instructions in Blackboard.

What other tips do you have to make using Blackboard easier?
