NOVA Tip: Use your student email account

Did you know that, as per college policy, students are required to use their VCCS issued student email address for official communication with NOVA faculty and staff? For distance learning students, email is an essential means of conducting college business, so now is a good time to get in the habit of checking your student account on a regular basis.

Here's a few tips to get you started from NOVA's IT Help Desk:

• Google Apps at NOVA provides a gateway to Google’s online services, allowing you to take advantage of Google’s email, productivity, and collaboration tools while maintaining your @email.vccs.edu address.
• All email addresses are in the following format - username@email.vccs.edu.
• Access your email at http://email.vccs.edu/ and via MyNOVA on the NOVA home page.
• Students are expected to check their official VCCS email on a frequent and consistent basis in order to remain informed of VCCS-related communications. The VCCS recommends checking email daily.
