Celebrate Virginia State Parks!

Did you know that on June 15, 1935, Virginia was the first state in the nation to open an entire state park system on the same day? Did you know that today there are 35 parks, 19 natural areas and 6 historic sites to explore in VA? Why not visit some of them this summer and celebrate the 75th anniversary of Virgina State Parks. Free parking is available to all state park visitors, June 13-19.

Here are just a few events and activities to look forward to:
  • 75 Days of Summer Contests: Visit a park and enter a drawing to possibly win the grand prize, a pop-up trailer from from Coastal RV. From June 15 to Sept. 5, enter daily online contests at VirginiaOutdoors.com with daily winners of a wide variety of prizes.
  • Geocaching Adventure: Geocaching is a great family-friendly sport. Through unique history themed caches set-up at each state park, you can take a step back in time and discover the history of Virginia's great parks.
