Be on the lookout, tonight, for a National Night Out event in
your neighborhood! National Night out is
a crime/drug prevention event held yearly in neighborhoods, sometimes at schools
or even in local shopping center parking lots.
National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association
of Town Watch and is designed to promote awareness of crime and drug prevention
as well as to generate support for local anticrime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police
community partnerships. Another purpose for the event is to send a message to
criminals to let them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
