Celebrating and Honoring Veteran's Day

Today is Veteran’s Day and the ELI Faculty and Staff would like to express our thanks and sincere appreciation to all of our veterans, and their families, for their sacrifices and service to our Country.

A few informational facts regarding Veteran's Day follow:

· Veterans Day originated as "Armistice Day" on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I.
· In 1926, Congress passed a resolution for an annual observance and Nov. 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938.
· Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans--living or dead--but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime. (For additional facts regarding Veteran's Day, please click here.)
Please remember to express your appreciation to a veteran today!
