Cox Cable Change

For Cox Cable Customers, Northern Virginia Community College Channel 19 will be moving from analog to digital format starting as soon as February 2, 2010. This change does not affect other cable-tv systems or Verizon FIOS.

What does this mean for you?
  • If you are already a Cox digital customer you will continue to tune to Channel 19 on digital set-top boxes and no change is needed.
  • If you are a Cox subscriber that has a newer TV equipped with a QAM tuner, especially flat panel sets that allow you to receive digital television channels from cable without a box, you also should not need to make a change.
  • If you are a Cox subscriber with an older analog television and do not already have a digital set-top box, you will need to get a set-top box from Cox. You can receive a digital set-top box free of charge for up to six (6) months from Cox. Just contact Cox Cable at the number below or visit one of their storefronts and let them know you want to take advantage of the six-month free set-top box offer for Northern Virginia Community College.
In addition to watching NVCC-TV on cable, you can watch our channel directly from our TV Center Website. Most of our programs are also available through our TV Center’s Video-on-Demand system. Visit the TV Center website for details and to access Video on Demand. The Video on Demand system links can also be accessed from the front page in Blackboard.

Be sure to watch for NOVA's new On Demand channel on Cox Cable coming soon.
