Smithsonian 2012 Folklife Festival

Grab your calendar and make plans to visit Smithsonian’s 2012 Folklife Festival.  The 2012 Folklife Festival is one of the many free leisure events sponsored by the Smithsonian.

The festival will run from Wednesday, June 27 - Sunday, July 1 as well as Wednesday, July 4 – Sunday, July 8.  The event will take place outdoors on the National Mall between 7th and 14th streets.  This year’s festival will feature, “Campus and Community: Public and Land-grant Universities and the USDA at 150,” “Citified: Arts and Creativity East of the Anacostia River” and “Creativity and Crisis: Unfolding the AIDS Memorial Quilt.”  Concerts, dance parties and special events will highlight the festival.

The hours are 11am-5:30pm.  Visitors with disabilities needing assistance should visit the Information booths located around the festival site.  The Festival welcomes all service animals.
